Where the B840M D2H fits
The B840M D2H is a low-cost AM5 board for home, office and entry gaming PCs. It takes any Ryzen 7000, 8000 or 9000 desktop CPU, runs DDR5 up to 7600 MT/s with EXPO or XMP, and puts the main M.2 slot on PCIe 4.0 x4 from the CPU for a fast boot drive. A second M.2 slot and four SATA ports cover extra storage, and the 2.5GbE port is a step above the Gigabit LAN found on many entry boards. The extra PCIe 3.0 x4 slot is useful for a capture card, Wi-Fi card or NVMe adapter.
B840 vs B850: what you give up
B840 is the entry chipset in AMD's 800-series line and its own lanes run at PCIe 3.0, which is why the second M.2 slot is limited to PCIe 3.0 x2. With only two DIMM slots, memory tops out at 128GB, and there is a single HDMI output for integrated graphics, so triple-monitor setups need a graphics card. There is no Wi-Fi. For a Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 9 gaming rig, or if you want four RAM slots and more PCIe 4.0 storage, a B850 board is the better long-term buy. For a Ryzen 5 build on a tight budget, this board covers the essentials.

Is it in stock, and when will it ship?

We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R210, or R150 on orders of R2 500 or more - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
