The right choice if you are buying memory anyway
If you have no DDR4 kit to carry over, there is very little reason to buy the DDR4 version of this board. DDR5 pricing has come down enough locally that a 32GB 5600MHz or 6000MHz kit is comfortably affordable, and it gives you meaningfully better memory bandwidth in the games and productivity workloads that care. Paired with a Core i5-13400F or i5-14400F, the PRO B760M-E DDR5 makes a tidy, quiet mid-range build that will happily drive 1440p. It is a plain board that does the fundamentals correctly and leaves the budget where it belongs.
Be clear about what it is not
Two DIMM slots cap you at 96GB and mean any capacity upgrade replaces the kit rather than fills empty slots. There is no onboard Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, LAN is Gigabit rather than 2.5G, and the rear I/O is functional rather than generous. B760 does not permit CPU overclocking, so the modest VRM is not really a limitation unless you intend to run a Core i9 under sustained all-core load — in that case buy a Z790 board with a proper power stage. Storage expansion is also limited compared to full ATX options. Builders who want multiple Gen 4 NVMe drives, Wi-Fi or faster networking should step up accordingly.
