96MB of 3D V-Cache on a six-core — the cheapest way into AMD's gaming-specific silicon.
Quick Specs
- 6 cores / 12 threads, 4.0GHz base, up to 4.5GHz boost
- 102MB total cache (6MB L2 + 96MB L3 with 3D V-Cache)
- 65W TDP, AM5 socket, DDR5 dual channel
- PCIe 5.0, Radeon graphics on board
- No cooler included
Why the cache matters more than the clock
3D V-Cache stacks extra L3 memory directly on top of the cores, taking this chip from 32MB to 96MB. Games hold far more of their working data right next to the CPU, which cuts the trips out to system RAM that cause stutter and frame-time spikes. The result is a chip whose modest 4.5GHz boost badly understates how it performs in games — in cache-hungry titles like simulators, strategy games and large open worlds, it punches well above chips with much higher clocks.
Gaming first, everything else second
The trade for that cache is clock speed: 4.5GHz boost is low by current standards, so anything that isn't cache-sensitive — video encoding, rendering, compiling — runs slower here than on a 9600X. Six cores also limits heavy multitasking. Buy the 7500X3D if the machine is for playing games. If it's a mixed work-and-play PC, a 9600X or Ryzen 7 9700X is the more balanced buy.
