Zen 5 eight-core at 5.5GHz inside 65W — the best-balanced chip on AM5.

Does everything, complains about nothing
Sixteen Zen 5 threads at up to 5.5GHz, full 32MB of L3 and PCIe 5.0 for both the graphics card and NVMe storage — this is the chip to buy when the machine has to game well, stream well and get real work done without being specialised at any of it. Rendering, code builds, big Photoshop and Premiere projects all scale onto those threads. That it does all of it at 65W is the surprising part: a good tower air cooler is enough.
Where the X3D chips take over
If the machine exists purely to play games, the 9800X3D is measurably faster for frame rates, and the gap widens in cache-heavy titles. The 9700X answers back everywhere else — it holds higher clocks, so it wins in encoding, rendering and compiling, and it usually costs less. Choose the 9700X for a mixed workload, the 9800X3D for a pure gaming rig. Budget for a cooler either way; neither includes one.
