Same cores as the 245K, without the iGPU

The 245KF has the same six Performance-cores and eight Efficient-cores as the Core Ultra 5 245K, with the same 4.2GHz P-core base and 5.2GHz turbo. The difference is the "F": the integrated graphics are disabled. If you are pairing it with a graphics card, you lose nothing in games or applications. It is unlocked for tuning on a Z890 board, supports DDR5 up to 6400 MT/s, and keeps the Intel AI Boost NPU rated at 13 TOPS for supported AI features. A 159W maximum turbo power is far more manageable than older Core i7 and i9 chips.

When to pick the 245K instead

Without an iGPU there is no display output at all unless a graphics card is fitted, which matters for troubleshooting, for a card that needs repair, and for Intel Quick Sync video encoding, which relies on the integrated graphics. If any of those matter, the 245K is worth the small premium. Core Ultra has no Hyper-Threading, so the thread count matches the core count. No cooler is included; a good tower air cooler is enough. You need an LGA1851 (800-series) motherboard and DDR5; LGA1700 boards and DDR4 are not compatible.
