The value flagship of the range
The 270K takes the Core Ultra 9's core layout — eight Performance-cores and sixteen efficiency cores, 36MB of cache — and sells it as a 7. It also gets DDR5-7200 support rather than 6400. In practice that means near-flagship multi-threaded throughput for rendering, encoding and compiling, a 5.5GHz turbo for games, and Xe graphics for display output, all at a noticeably lower price than the 285K sitting above it.
What separates it from the 285K
Only 200MHz of turbo, essentially. The 285K reaches 5.7GHz; everything else — core layout, cache, power ceiling — is the same. That makes the 270K the smarter buy for almost everyone. Cooling is the real requirement here: 250W maximum turbo needs an AIO or a serious dual-tower air cooler, and none is included. As always with Core Ultra, no Hyper-Threading — twenty-four cores, twenty-four threads.
