Eight cores for a mid-range AM5 build

The 8700F gives you eight Zen 4 cores and sixteen threads for gaming while streaming, video editing, compiling and virtual machines, at a modest 65W. It is the same core design as the Ryzen 7 8700G but without the Radeon iGPU, so you are not paying for graphics silicon that a graphics card would make redundant. The on-chip AMD Ryzen AI engine, rated up to 16 TOPS, is available for supported AI features. This listing is the MPK (multipack) version, which uses AMD's bulk packaging rather than the individual retail box; the chip itself is identical to the boxed 8700F.

The "F", the cache and the cooler

"F" means no integrated graphics, so there is no display output at all without a graphics card, which matters when troubleshooting. Like the rest of the 8000 series it carries 16MB of L3 and runs PCIe 4.0, versus 32MB and PCIe 5.0 on a Ryzen 7 9700X, a modest but real gap in gaming.
