Why builders still ask for it by name

7800X3D or 9800X3D?

The 9800X3D is faster — newer Zen 5 cores and higher clocks — and costs more. The 7800X3D typically sits at a friendlier price and gives up single-digit percentages in most games. Both share the same weakness: modest clocks mean rendering and encoding are slower than on a 9700X. And at 120W with cache stacked on the cores, this one wants a proper 240mm AIO or a large tower cooler, which isn't included.
