- ATX 3.1 compliant with a PCIe Gen 5.1 16-pin (12V-2x6) cable included
- Fully modular cable set

Where the 850W actually goes
850W is the sweet spot for a single-GPU build in 2026. It carries an RTX 5070 Ti or 5080 alongside a Ryzen 9 or Core Ultra 9 with enough headroom left for the transient spikes modern GPUs throw at a PSU during frame-time dips. The ATX 3.1 rating means those spikes are handled to spec rather than tripping over-power protection. If you are running a 5090 or a dual-card workstation, step up to a 1000W or 1200W unit instead; if you are on a 60-class card, you are paying for headroom you will never use.
The 16-pin cable matters more than the badge
A native PCI-E 16-pin cable runs straight from the PSU to a 50-series card with no octopus adapter dangling behind the GPU. That is one less connector to seat badly, and in a mid-tower with a glass side panel it is the difference between a clean build and a mess. The rest of the loom is fully modular, so the three 6+2-pin PCIe leads, five SATA and four peripheral connectors stay in the box unless you need them. Nothing dead is left coiled in the basement.
FEATURES:
- 80 Plus Gold efficiency, which means less waste heat dumped into the case on a hot Highveld afternoon
- ATX 3.1 power excursion handling for modern GPU transient loads
- Native PCIe Gen 5.1 16-pin cable, no adapter required on a 50-series card
- Full modular design keeps unused cables out of the chassis
- Full protection suite: OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP and OTP

Why ASUS?
ASUS builds its Prime power supplies on the same protection circuitry and component grading it uses in the ROG range, then prices them for people who would rather spend the difference on a better GPU. Local support runs through the standard ASUS South Africa channel, backed by an 8-year warranty.

Questions
Before you buy
Is this enough power for my build?
It is a 850W supply rated 80 Plus Gold. Add up what your parts need - the graphics card is usually the biggest single draw, and every card we sell lists its recommended system wattage - then leave headroom above that figure. A supply running at roughly half its rating is quieter and lasts longer than one held near its limit.
Is it modular?
It is Fully Modular. Fully modular means every cable unplugs, so you only fit the ones you need; semi-modular keeps the motherboard and CPU cables attached and makes the rest optional; non-modular has them all permanently fixed. It is a tidiness and airflow question rather than a performance one. Never reuse cables from a different supply - the pinouts differ between brands.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
Yes - this one is in stock. Order before 12:00 on a working day and it ships the same day; after that it goes out the next working day. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, so an order placed over a weekend or a public holiday ships on the next working day.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R210, or R150 on orders of R2 500 or more - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
How can I pay?
Payments are processed by Stitch. At the last step of checkout you are taken to Stitch’s secure page to pay, and brought back here once it is done. Your card details are entered on Stitch’s secure, PCI-compliant page and never touch our systems.
