Dual 4+4 pin CPU connectors on a sub-R1000 supply, which is what separates this from the 550W model as much as the extra wattage does.
Quick Specs
- 650W continuous output
- 80 PLUS 230V EU Standard, ≥85% efficiency at typical load
- Non-modular, all cables permanently attached
- 120mm sleeve bearing fan
- Hold-up time greater than 17ms at 80% load
The step up from 550W
The extra 100W is the obvious difference, but the practical one is the dual EPS 4+4 pin CPU connectors, which matter on boards that want both an 8-pin and a supplementary 4-pin fed. That makes this a better fit for a mid-range gaming build with a 70-class card and a six or eight-core CPU. It remains an older ATX12V v2.52 platform, so if you are buying a current-generation flagship GPU that expects 12V-2x6 and ATX 3.1 excursion handling, this is not the unit for that build.
Cables are fixed, so plan the route
Non-modular cabling keeps the price down and means every lead is in the case whether you need it or not. The floppy and Molex runs in particular usually end up cable-tied out of the way. On the electrical side you get a single +12V rail, DC-to-DC modules for +5V and +3.3V, active PFC above 0.9, and hold-up time over 17ms at 80% load, which is what keeps a system alive through a brief mains dip.
