Where the extra 150W goes
This is the MEGA to buy if your card is an RTX 5090 or a 5080 you intend to push, or if the build stacks a 16-core CPU on top of a high-draw GPU. The 16-pin 12V-2x6 connector is rated to carry the full load a 600W-class card asks for, and running a 1000W unit at 500W keeps it in the flattest part of the Gold efficiency curve, which means less waste heat dumped into the case and a fan that stays quiet. On a mid-range 5070 build it is simply more supply than you need.
Fitment and cabling in a South African case
At 140mm deep the MEGA 1000 drops into any standard ATX mid-tower without stealing space from the front radiator mount, and the unit weighs 1.32kg. The cable complement is identical to the 850: one 24-pin, two 8-pin (4+4) CPU, three 8-pin (6+2) PCIe, seven SATA, two Molex and the native 16-pin 12V-2x6. Being fully modular, an air-cooled build with two drives leaves half the bundle in the accessory bag rather than stuffed behind the motherboard tray. Input is the usual 100V to 240V, so load shedding inverters are no obstacle.

Before you buy
Is this enough power for my build?
It is a 1000W supply rated 80 Plus Gold. Add up what your parts need - the graphics card is usually the biggest single draw, and every card we sell lists its recommended system wattage - then leave headroom above that figure. A supply running at roughly half its rating is quieter and lasts longer than one held near its limit.
Is it modular?
It is Fully Modular. Fully modular means every cable unplugs, so you only fit the ones you need; semi-modular keeps the motherboard and CPU cables attached and makes the rest optional; non-modular has them all permanently fixed. It is a tidiness and airflow question rather than a performance one. Never reuse cables from a different supply - the pinouts differ between brands.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?

What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R210, or R150 on orders of R2 500 or more - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
How can I pay?
