Where it sits in the range
At R399 the Scream sits above the entry wired sets and below the USB surround models. You are paying for build and comfort rather than for features: there is no virtual 7.1, no wireless dongle and no software suite. What you get is a more substantial wired headset with lighting, aimed at someone who games at a desk for hours and wants the padding to hold up. If the feature list is what you are shopping for, the Pandora H350 at R599 gives you more of it.
Who should skip it
Anyone who needs to move away from the PC. This is a cabled headset with no battery and no Bluetooth, so it stays tethered. It is also a poor match for console players who want lighting, since RGB needs USB power that a controller does not supply. And if your budget is genuinely tight, the Cronus H211 covers the same basic job for R150 less. The Scream is a comfort and build upgrade, not a capability one.
