A DDR2 service part for machines that still have a job to do.

- 240-pin DDR2 DIMM form factor
- 1.8V standard DDR2 operating voltage
- Bare PCB, no heat spreader, no RGB
Why anyone still buys DDR2
DDR2 is roughly twenty years old, and nobody purchases it for performance. What keeps it selling is that plenty of hardware built around it is still running and still worth keeping running: industrial control PCs, till and point-of-sale systems, test benches tied to a legacy expansion card, older workstations attached to equipment that has no modern driver, and the occasional retro build. When one of those machines throws a memory error, the only sensible fix is a matching DDR2 module, and finding new stock is increasingly difficult. At PC2-6400 and 1.8V this is the standard high-end DDR2 speed, so it sits happily in most Core 2 and Athlon 64 X2 era boards.
Set your expectations correctly
This is not a gaming purchase and it is not an upgrade in any meaningful sense. Two gigabytes will not run a modern operating system comfortably, let alone a current game — 16GB is the practical floor for gaming today. If you are trying to make an old desktop usable for everyday browsing, be realistic: even fully populated, a DDR2 platform will feel slow, and the money is far better spent on a second-hand DDR4 machine. Buy this only as a replacement or to fill an empty slot on hardware you must keep in service. DDR2 will not fit a DDR3, DDR4 or DDR5 board — the notch position is different and the module physically cannot seat. Confirm against your motherboard's QVL and your existing modules, since older chipsets can be particular about rank and density combinations.
