Built for the NVR that never stops writing.
The Hiksemi V310N is a 1TB surveillance drive made for continuous, sequential write workloads from NVRs and DVRs, not for gaming. It is an M.2 SATA drive in the 2280 form factor, which matters: it is keyed differently to an NVMe stick and will not work in an NVMe-only M.2 slot. Check that your recorder or motherboard slot accepts M.2 SATA before ordering.
Key Features
- M.2 2280 SATA, not NVMe: the 80mm M.2 stick format running over the SATA III interface. An NVMe-only slot will not accept it, so confirm your recorder's slot support first.
- 1776TB written endurance: an exceptionally high TBW rating, which is the number that counts when cameras write to the drive around the clock.
- Up to 560MB/s read and 520MB/s write: the write figure sits close to the SATA III ceiling, enough headroom for multiple high-definition camera streams at once.
- 95K read / 75K write random 4K IOPS: keeps recent footage quick to pull up when you are reviewing an incident.
- 3D TLC storage medium: stated by the manufacturer, with a 2,000,000 hour MTBF rating.
- 1.0W maximum draw: low thermal load inside a sealed recorder chassis or a remote site cabinet.
- No moving parts: no heads, no platters, so vibration and mechanical wear are out of the picture, unlike a surveillance hard drive.
- Roughly 931GB usable: normal formatted capacity for a 1TB drive; size your retention window accordingly.

- Hiksemi V310N 1TB M.2 SATA Surveillance SSD x1
Backed by a 3 year warranty. This is the part for installers and system administrators running video surveillance, rail transit or industrial control storage, where the drive writes continuously and downtime costs more than the hardware. It is not the drive to buy for a gaming build.
