2TB of Gen4 storage for a games library that stopped fitting on 1TB.
The Hiksemi Future Lite 2TB is a PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe drive in the standard M.2 2280 form factor. Two terabytes is the capacity you move to once a large Steam or Game Pass library, a 4K video project folder or a photo archive has outgrown a 1TB drive, and the Gen4 throughput means you are not trading speed for that space.
Key Features
- Up to 7,100MB/s read and 6,350MB/s write: sequential figures high enough that large project files and game installs move about as fast as consumer hardware allows.
- 875K read / 480K write random 4K IOPS: strong random performance for loading many small files at once.
- 1500TB written endurance: a stated TBW rating with a 2,000,000 hour MTBF figure behind it.
- 3D NAND storage medium: paired with Hiksemi's own NAND flash management software and an advanced SSD controller.
- Smart thermal control: the drive manages its own temperature to hold performance during long transfers, with low power draw for laptops.
- Roughly 1.86TB usable: a 2TB drive formats to about that, which is normal and not a fault.
- Backwards compatible: it runs in a PCIe Gen3 M.2 slot at Gen3 speed. Check your system's M.2 slot length, keying and PCIe generation first.
