7,000 MB/s of Gen4 storage at the capacity most builds should start at.
The Hiksemi Future Lite 1TB is an M.2 2280 NVMe drive on PCIe Gen4 x4, rated at up to 7,000 MB/s read and 6,000 MB/s write — close to the practical ceiling of the Gen4 interface. At 1TB it is the sensible default for a gaming PC in 2026: enough room for Windows, your applications and a working game library without immediately planning a second drive.
It pairs an advanced SSD controller with 3D NAND flash and Hiksemi's own NAND management firmware, and adds smart thermal control so sustained transfers do not simply cook the drive into throttling.
Key Features
- PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe: up to 7,000 MB/s read and 6,000 MB/s write.
- Strong random performance: up to 915K IOPS 4K random read and 462K IOPS random write — the figures that actually govern how responsive the system feels.
- M.2 2280 form factor: the standard 80mm M.2 stick. Check your system's M.2 slot length, keying and PCIe generation before ordering.
- Runs in a Gen3 slot too: a Gen4 drive works in a PCIe 3.0 slot, just at Gen3 speed — so it is not wasted on an older board, and it is ready when you upgrade.
- 750TB write endurance: rated at up to 750 TBW with an MTBF of 2 million hours.
- Smart thermal control: active temperature management with low power consumption, at a 7g featherweight.
- 3D NAND flash: premium 3D NAND on automated production lines with Hiksemi's own flash management software.

What's in the Box
- 1 x Hiksemi Future Lite 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD (black)
Backed by a 5 year warranty. A 1TB drive formats to roughly 931GB usable. Like every consumer SSD, it writes fastest into cache and will settle to a lower rate on very large sustained transfers — normal behaviour, and rarely noticeable in gaming or general use. A strong pick for a mainstream gaming build or a workstation that needs fast working storage.
