The Z890 AORUS MASTER is aimed at Core Ultra 9 285K owners who overclock, work with large files or want the best connectivity on LGA1851. Memory support reaches 9500 MT/s with CUDIMM modules. Storage is extensive: two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slots and one PCIe 4.0 x4 slot from the CPU, plus two more PCIe 4.0 slots from the chipset and four SATA ports. Networking pairs Marvell 10GbE with Intel's BE200 Wi-Fi 7 at 320MHz, and the rear panel carries two Thunderbolt 4 ports, six USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. Audio uses an ALC1220 codec with an ESS ES9118 DAC.

What to consider

Using the M2D_CPU Gen5 slot halves the main graphics slot to x8, so if you want a full x16 link and only one Gen5 drive, use M2A. The remaining expansion is one PCIe 4.0 x4 and one PCIe 4.0 x1 slot from the chipset. Display outputs are the two Thunderbolt ports plus a front HDMI connection limited to 1080p at 30Hz. There are ten fan headers, so even big custom cooling loops are covered. This is a lot of board for a gamer who will never use 10GbE or five M.2 slots; the Z890 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 covers gaming needs for much less.
