Gen4 NVMe speed at the sensible 1TB size.
The Crucial E100 1TB is an M.2 2280 NVMe drive on a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface, built on Micron's Advanced G7 NAND. It is aimed at the person building or upgrading a gaming PC or workstation who wants the 2026 default capacity and real Gen4 throughput rather than SATA speeds. It fits the same 80mm M.2 slot most desktop motherboards and modern laptops use.
Key Features
- PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe: sequential reads up to 5,000MB/s and writes up to 4,500MB/s, which Crucial rates as 8x faster than SATA3 and 33x faster than a hard drive.
- M.2 2280 form factor: the 80mm stick. Check your system's M.2 slot length, keying and PCIe generation before ordering.
- Runs in Gen3 boards too: Crucial lists backward compatibility with PCIe 3.0 systems, so the drive still works in an older board, just at that slot's speed.
- Micron Advanced G7 NAND: Micron flash and Micron engineering in the same package.
- Data integrity features: multistep data integrity algorithm, error correction code (ECC), integrated power loss immunity and SMART reporting.
- Thermal and housekeeping: adaptive thermal protection, dynamic write acceleration, active garbage collection, TRIM support and NVMe low power modes.
