The Strix Z890-A Gaming WiFi is the board to pick when the rest of the build is white or silver, with the A-series light styling on its heatsinks and covers. Under that it is a full Z890 board for a Core Ultra 7 or Ultra 9 K-series chip: CPU and memory overclocking, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, a PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 and four more PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, so five NVMe drives in total. Two rear Thunderbolt 4 ports handle docks and fast external SSDs, and Wi-Fi 7 runs full 320MHz channels.

Z890-A or Z890-F?

We also list the Strix Z890-F Gaming WiFi, which shares the same chipset, memory support, five M.2 slots and Thunderbolt 4. The differences are styling and I/O. The Z890-F is the dark version and has 14 rear USB ports to this board's 10, an extra front USB 5Gbps header, and x8/x4/x4 bifurcation on the main slot. Choose the Z890-A if the colour scheme matters and ten rear ports are enough; choose the F if you plug in a lot of USB devices. Either way, there are only two PCIe slots, so it is not for multi-card workstations.
