The Pro WS Z890-ACE SE is for render nodes, small-office servers, CAD and development machines that run 24/7 or sit in a rack or another room. The onboard ASPEED AST2600 BMC has its own 1Gb management port and supports ASUS Control Center Express and IPMI, so you can monitor temperatures, mount media and reach the BIOS without a keyboard at the machine. Two CPU PCIe 5.0 x16 slots split x8/x8 for a pair of GPUs or a GPU plus a fast NIC, and the 10GbE port suits a NAS-backed workflow.

Who should look elsewhere

Gamers get little from this board. There is no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, no RGB lighting, and the BIOS is the text-based AMI interface rather than ASUS's gaming EZ Mode. You pay for remote management and dual-slot bandwidth, which a single-GPU home PC will never use. A ROG Strix Z890 board gives a better gaming feature set for less. Also note that the SlimSAS port needs a cable sold separately before it can run four extra SATA drives or a U.2 SSD.
