A complete kit, not just a microphone
Buy most entry microphones and you then discover you need a stand, a shock mount to stop desk knocks transmitting, and a pop filter to tame the plosives on every P and B. The Seyfert includes all three. The tripod folds and rotates for travel, the shock mount isolates the capsule from desk vibration, and the gooseneck pop filter is metal rather than the stretched fabric type that sags within months. For a first recording or streaming setup, that is genuinely everything you need in one box.
3.5mm rather than USB — read this first
The Seyfert connects by 3.5mm jack, not USB, and that has consequences worth understanding. On the plus side it works with phones, tablets, cameras and older laptops, and the included splitter cable handles PCs with a single combined headset port. On the minus side, your audio quality depends on your computer's onboard sound card rather than the microphone's own converter, so a cheap motherboard will introduce hiss that a USB mic would avoid. If you are recording on a desktop PC for streaming, the USB Cast Core at R699 is the safer choice; if you need portability and versatility, the Seyfert is the better tool.
