Who it suits
This is the dual-rank, double-sided version of Patriot's 8GB DDR4-2666 laptop module. It suits DDR4 laptops limited to 2666MHz, and is the one to choose when the module already in your laptop is also dual-rank, because matching rank, capacity and speed gives the best chance of a stable dual-channel pair. If you are unsure, the single-rank version (PSD48G266681S) does the same job at the same speed and timings. Skip both if your laptop supports 3200MHz and you want full speed, or if you need 16GB or more in one slot.
Check compatibility before you order
This is a 260-pin DDR4 SO-DIMM for laptops and it will not fit a desktop motherboard. DDR3, DDR4 and DDR5 are keyed differently and are not interchangeable, so confirm your laptop takes DDR4 SO-DIMM. Many thin laptops have some or all of their memory soldered to the board with no free slot, so check your manual or open the base cover first. Also check the maximum capacity per slot and the maximum memory speed your laptop supports; a module faster than the laptop allows normally runs at the slower supported speed.
