The Hiksemi Hiker 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM is a cost-efficient way to add memory to a DDR4 laptop. At 2666MHz, it is aimed at older DDR4 laptops rather than recent ones. An 8GB module is ideal for doubling a laptop that already has 8GB, giving 16GB in dual channel, or for replacing a faulty stick. It suits browsing, Office work, online classes and streaming. Intel XMP support is listed, but most laptops simply run memory at their own default speed.
Check Your Laptop Before You Buy
This is a SO-DIMM laptop module and will not fit a desktop motherboard. It is DDR4, so it will not work in a DDR3, DDR3L or DDR5 laptop: each generation is keyed differently and they are not interchangeable. Many thin-and-light laptops have some or all of their memory soldered to the board with no free slot, so check the spec sheet or open the base panel first. DDR4-2666 matches many older DDR4 laptops; if yours supports 3200MHz, the Hiker 3200MHz modules give a little more bandwidth. Also check the laptop's maximum capacity per slot.
