Who it suits
A single 32GB module suits laptops used for virtual machines, photo and video editing, large datasets or very heavy browser and app multitasking. Because it uses only one slot, it also lets you add a big amount of memory to a laptop with one free slot. Before buying, confirm your laptop supports 32GB per slot: some older DDR4 laptops cap each slot at 16GB and will not recognise this module. If you mostly browse and use Office, 8GB or 16GB is more cost-effective. For dual-channel, pair it with another 32GB module of the same speed.
Check compatibility before you order
This is a 260-pin DDR4 SO-DIMM for laptops and it will not fit a desktop motherboard. DDR3, DDR4 and DDR5 are keyed differently and are not interchangeable, so confirm your laptop takes DDR4 SO-DIMM. Many thin laptops have some or all of their memory soldered to the board with no free slot, so check your manual or open the base cover first. Also check the maximum capacity per slot and the maximum memory speed your laptop supports; a module faster than the laptop allows normally runs at the slower supported speed.
