No Cable, No Problem
The PVP30 Duo has both a USB-C and a USB-A plug on the drive itself, so it goes straight into a new laptop, an older desktop or a USB-C phone without adapters or a cable to lose. Over USB 3.2 Gen 2 it reads and writes at up to 1000MB/s, and Patriot lists Apple ProRes support. The aluminium housing helps shed heat during long transfers, and the 2TB model carries an 800TBW endurance rating, so it is built for regular heavy use, not just occasional backups.
Things to Know
Plugged in directly, a stick-style drive can block neighbouring ports and puts leverage on the socket if it is knocked, so take care with a laptop on your lap. Many USB-A ports are only 5Gbps, which roughly halves the speed; use a 10Gbps port for the full 1000MB/s. Patriot lists compatibility with Windows XP through 11 and macOS 10.3 or later. The 1TB version costs considerably less, so choose the 2TB if you genuinely need the room for large video libraries or game backups.
