A middle ground for typing and gaming
Brown sits between the linear Red and the clicky Blue: you feel a small bump as the key actuates, but there is no audible click, so it stays office-friendly. That makes it a sensible all-rounder if you type a lot and game occasionally on a slim Keychron board. The 2.0 version is pre-lubricated, uses a transparent top housing for per-key RGB and is 12.2 mm tall, with longer travel than the original KS-27. If you want a sharper, heavier bump, the Banana set is the stronger tactile option; if you want no bump at all, choose Red. With 110 switches, a full-size board is covered.
Before you buy: low-profile boards only
These are Gateron low-profile switches, so they only fit keyboards built for Gateron low-profile MX-style switches: the low-profile Keychron K1, K3, K5, K7, K Pro and K Max models, plus the S1. They will not fit a normal-height MX board, and Keychron's low-profile optical boards cannot take them either. On hot-swappable versions a switch changes in seconds; non-hot-swap versions of the K1, K3, K5 and S1 need soldering. Also note that the common Gateron switch opener does not work on low-profile switches, so these are not a lubing project.
