A single 8GB DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM is the easiest way to add memory to a laptop that has a free slot. Check Your Laptop Before You Buy
This is a SO-DIMM laptop module and will not fit a desktop motherboard. It is DDR4, so it will not work in a DDR3, DDR3L or DDR5 laptop: each generation is keyed differently and they are not interchangeable. Many thin-and-light laptops have some or all of their memory soldered to the board with no free slot, so check the spec sheet or open the base panel first. When adding to a module already in the laptop, matching its capacity and speed gives the best chance of dual-channel operation; mixed modules usually run at the slower one's speed, and a laptop rated below 3200MHz will run this module slower too.
