What a JEDEC 4800 module is good at
4800MHz is the speed every DDR5 board boots at before any profile is applied, which makes this module unusually simple to deploy. It is the sensible part for an office or business DDR5 machine, for a system integrator who wants a known-good baseline, or as a troubleshooting stick to confirm a board posts. There is no XMP or EXPO profile to enable and no voltage above the 1.1V nominal, so it behaves predictably on locked OEM BIOS versions. DDR5 also brings on-die ECC and an on-module power management IC, which help stability even at this conservative speed.
Not the stick for a gaming build
Two things make this a poor gaming purchase. First, 8GB is well below the practical 16GB floor for modern titles, and as a single module it runs in single channel, halving the bandwidth the CPU can reach and hurting 1% lows and frame pacing. Second, 4800MHz leaves performance on the table on AM5 and current Intel platforms, which are tuned around 6000MHz. If you are building to game, buy a 2x16GB 6000MHz kit. Buy this module for a working machine, for capacity in a business PC, or as the second half of a matching pair. DDR5 will not fit a DDR4 board, so check your motherboard and its QVL.

Before you buy
Will this memory work in my PC?
This is DDR5 rated at 4800 MT/s. Your motherboard has to support the same generation - DDR4 and DDR5 modules are keyed differently and will not physically fit the wrong board. The rated speed needs the memory profile (XMP on Intel, EXPO on AMD) switched on in the BIOS; without it the kit runs at the board’s default speed.
What exactly is in this kit?
8GB in total, supplied as 1 matched modules. Modules sold together are tested to run as a set, which is why a kit is the safer buy than two single sticks bought separately. Fit them in the slots your motherboard manual specifies for dual channel - usually the second and fourth from the CPU.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
Yes - this one is in stock. Order before 12:00 on a working day and it ships the same day; after that it goes out the next working day. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, so an order placed over a weekend or a public holiday ships on the next working day.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?

Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
