An upgrade stick for DDR4 systems
VENGEANCE LPX is Corsair's plain, low-height DDR4, and this 16GB module is the typical way to take an older 8GB or 16GB system up to 16GB or 32GB. It runs at the JEDEC default of 2133MHz until you enable the XMP 2.0 profile in the BIOS, which takes it to 3200MHz CL16 at 1.35V. Corsair lists support for Intel 300 to 600 series and X299 boards, and AMD 300, 400 and 500 series including X570. This is DDR4, so it won't fit a DDR5 board such as AM5 or most new Intel 700/800 series boards.
Single stick vs a matched kit
One module on its own runs in single-channel mode, which costs real performance in games and especially on integrated graphics. Buy two for dual channel if you're starting fresh, or add this to an existing 16GB stick of the same speed. Mixing with a different brand or timing usually works but isn't guaranteed, and the board may fall back to the slower module's settings. The low heatspreader is the reason to pick LPX: it clears large tower coolers and suits compact cases. If you want RGB, look elsewhere.
FEATURES:
- Low-profile design for small cases and tight cooler clearance
- XMP 2.0 support sets the rated speed with one BIOS setting
- Anodised aluminium heatspreader draws heat away from the ICs
- Eight-layer PCB for heat management and signal quality
- Individually screened memory ICs
