What this module is for
This is a repair and legacy-upgrade part. DDR3 belongs to desktops built roughly between 2009 and 2015, and the reason to buy a stick like this is to replace a failed module, to fill an empty slot in an office machine, or to bring an old family PC back to a usable state for browsing, documents and light media. At 1600MHz it runs at the standard speed those platforms were designed around, so it will drop in and work without BIOS fiddling on most boards. For that job it is inexpensive, straightforward and covered by a lifetime warranty, which is all anyone should want from a legacy DIMM.
Do not buy this for gaming
4GB is not a gaming amount of memory, and DDR3 is not a gaming platform in 2026. Windows 11 alone will occupy most of this module before a game launches, and modern titles will not run acceptably on a 4GB machine regardless of what graphics card is fitted. If you are looking at framerates, you want a DDR4 or DDR5 build with at least 16GB, and money spent here does not move you toward one. A single stick also runs in single channel, so if the board has a second free slot, pairing this with a matching 4GB module gives a worthwhile bandwidth improvement on old integrated graphics.

Before you buy
Will this memory work in my PC?
This is DDR3 rated at 1600 MT/s. Your motherboard has to support the same generation - DDR4 and DDR5 modules are keyed differently and will not physically fit the wrong board. The rated speed needs the memory profile (XMP on Intel, EXPO on AMD) switched on in the BIOS; without it the kit runs at the board’s default speed.
What exactly is in this kit?
4GB in total, supplied as 1 matched modules. Modules sold together are tested to run as a set, which is why a kit is the safer buy than two single sticks bought separately. Fit them in the slots your motherboard manual specifies for dual channel - usually the second and fourth from the CPU.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
Yes - this one is in stock. Order before 12:00 on a working day and it ships the same day; after that it goes out the next working day. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, so an order placed over a weekend or a public holiday ships on the next working day.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
