The value pick in a 1000W build

This is where the TUF line stops being the budget option and starts undercutting the ROG units on pure value. You get the same 1000W ceiling, the same ATX 3.1 validation and the same native 16-pin cable as the Strix Platinum at roughly two thirds of the price. What you give up is the Platinum efficiency band and the Cybenetics noise certification. For most people building around an RTX 5080 or a 5090 in a well-ventilated case, that is the right trade.

Fits where the big units do not

At 150 x 150 x 86 mm this is a standard-depth ATX unit, which means it drops into essentially any mid-tower without the clearance maths the 190mm ROG Thor forces on you. The 0dB mode is on by default, so the fan stays still until the system crosses a load threshold. Four 8-pin PCIe leads, five SATA and four peripheral connectors handle a normal build comfortably, and none of them enters the case unless you plug it in.

FEATURES:

• ATX 3.1 compliance with a native PCIe Gen 5.1 16-pin cable
• 0dB fan mode active by default, fan spins only above a set load
• Standard 150mm ATX depth for broad case compatibility
• Fully modular cabling
• OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP and OTP protection

Why ASUS?

TUF Gaming units are validated to the same ATX 3.1 excursion profile as the ROG range and share its protection set, with the money going into the platform rather than the lighting. ASUS covers this unit for 10 years.
