The RTX 5070 version of the Strix G16 - the same sixteen-core Ryzen 9, with the graphics card that makes the 2.5K panel make sense.

- AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX, 16 cores / 32 threads, up to 5.3GHz
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, 8GB GDDR7
- 16GB DDR5, 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD
- 16" 2.5K (2560 x 1600) IPS-level, 100% DCI-P3, G-Sync with MUX switch
- Windows 11 Home
The step up from the RTX 5060 model
R10 570 more than the Strix G16 with the RTX 5060, for one tier more graphics. Whether that is worth it depends entirely on the resolution you play at. On the built-in 2.5K panel, the 5070 is the difference between turning settings down in demanding titles and leaving them up - and if you intend to actually use 2560 x 1600 rather than run games at 1080p on a 1440p screen, it is the right card for this laptop. At 1080p on an external monitor, the cheaper model will not hold you back and you should save the money.
Memory, as ever
16GB with a sixteen-core processor is the same slight imbalance that runs through the AMD machines in this range. Both SO-DIMM slots are user-accessible and the chassis takes 64GB, so a second stick is a straightforward and inexpensive fix if your work needs it. Games are fine at 16GB today.

Why ASUS?
The Strix chassis has the cooling headroom to let an RTX 5070 run the way it should, which not every 16-inch laptop does. Warranty on this particular build is listed as 1 year - most ROG Strix models carry 3 - so ask us to confirm before you order if that is part of your decision.
