Bare drive or heatsink?

If your motherboard already has an M.2 heatsink, the bare 990 PRO 2TB is cheaper and uses the board's cooler instead. The heatsink version is too thick for laptops. In a desktop, check clearance near a large graphics card, as the heatsink stands just under 9mm tall. For PS5 owners who want one high-capacity drive and no fuss, this is the version to get.
