Gen5 storage at 14,800 MB/s, for the machine where nothing waits.
The Hiksemi Future Core 2TB is an M.2 2280 drive on a PCIe Gen5 x4 interface running NVMe 2.0d, rated at up to 14,800 MB/s sequential read and 12,800 MB/s write. This is the top of the current consumer storage stack — built for large game libraries, high-resolution video editing and photo archives where you are moving genuinely large files all day.
Under the label it uses 3D TLC NAND with Hiksemi's latest controller, fourth-generation agile ECC error correction (4K LDPC) and end-to-end data protection. The 1900 TBW endurance rating and 2 million hour MTBF put it squarely in workstation territory rather than casual use.
Key Features
- PCIe Gen5 x4, NVMe 2.0d: up to 14,800 MB/s read and 12,800 MB/s write.
- Very high random throughput: up to 2,000K IOPS 4K random read and 1,500K IOPS random write.
- Gen5 needs cooling: Gen5 drives run hot. Plan on a heatsink or your motherboard's M.2 heatspreader over it, with some airflow — without one, sustained transfers will throttle.
- Gen3 and Gen4 slots still work: it will run in an older slot, just at that slot's speed. To see Gen5 figures you need a Gen5 M.2 slot.
- 1900TB write endurance: rated at 1900 TBW with an MTBF of 2 million hours.
- End-to-end data protection: fourth-generation agile ECC correction (4K LDPC) guarding data integrity through the whole path.
- 3D TLC NAND: premium-grade 3D TLC flash, automated assembly and Hiksemi quality control.
- M.2 2280 form factor: the standard 80mm stick. Check your system's M.2 slot length, keying and PCIe generation before ordering.

What's in the Box
- 1 x Hiksemi Future Core 2TB Gen5 M.2 NVMe 3D NAND SSD
Backed by a 5 year warranty. A 2TB drive formats to roughly 1.86TB usable. As with any consumer SSD, writes land fastest in cache and settle lower on very large sustained transfers. This is the drive for an enthusiast build, a video editing workstation, or anyone whose day is spent waiting on file copies rather than on the CPU.
