Full description and specifications

The same sixteen-core i7 as the model below, with an RTX 5060 and twice the storage - the most sensibly balanced TUF in the range.

Quick Specs

  • Intel Core i7-14650HX, 16 cores / 24 threads, up to 5.2GHz
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, 8GB GDDR7, 115W
  • 16GB DDR5-5600, 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD
  • 16" 16:10 IPS-level anti-glare, G-Sync with MUX switch
  • Windows 11 Home, 1 year ASUS warranty

Why this is the one to look at

R1 700 over the RTX 5050 version buys a materially faster GPU and doubles the SSD. That is the rare upgrade that is obviously worth taking. The RTX 5060 at 115W is a genuine 1440p card, so plugging into a 1440p monitor at home is a reasonable plan rather than a compromise, and the 1TB drive means you are not deleting one game to install another. The CPU is unchanged and was never the weak point.

Living with it

This is a 2.2kg 16-inch laptop with a 280W-class power brick - it is portable in the sense that it fits in a bag, not in the sense that you will forget it is there. Battery life under load is short, as it is on every machine of this type; the MUX switch and Advanced Optimus help considerably when you are just working, by handing the display back to the integrated graphics.

  • RTX 5060 with 8GB GDDR7 at 115W, DLSS 4 multi frame generation

  • MUX switch, NVIDIA Advanced Optimus and G-Sync
  • Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 FRL, three USB-A, RJ45 LAN
  • Wi-Fi 6E, 1080p IR camera with Windows Hello

Questions

Before you buy

What is inside this laptop?
RTX 5060 115W graphics, 16GB DDR5 of memory and a 16" 165Hz G-Sync display. The full configuration, including storage and ports, is in the Specifications section above.
Can I upgrade the memory or storage later?
It varies by model - some laptops have sockets you can reach behind a service panel, others solder the memory to the board. Whatever this one supports is listed under Specifications, and opening the machine yourself can affect the warranty. Ask us before you buy an upgrade and we will confirm what will fit.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
This one is out of stock at the moment. Stock does come back in - WhatsApp us on 079 491 0181 with the model and we will tell you what the supplier is showing and let you know when it lands, rather than leaving you to keep checking the page.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R210, or R150 on orders of R2 500 or more - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
How can I pay?
Payments are processed by Stitch. At the last step of checkout you are taken to Stitch’s secure page to pay, and brought back here once it is done. Your card details are entered on Stitch’s secure, PCI-compliant page and never touch our systems.
