A 1000R curve, which is the tightest bend on any screen in this range, wrapped around 3440 x 1440 at 180Hz.
Quick Specs
- 34" VA panel, 1000R curve
- 3440 x 1440 (UWQHD) at 180Hz
- 1ms MPRT response
- 3000:1 contrast, AMD FreeSync Premium
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4a, 2x HDMI 2.0b
The 1000R curve is the point of this one
A 1000R radius means the panel is bent to match a circle one metre across, which is close to the natural curve of human vision. On a 34-inch ultrawide, that keeps the far left and right edges the same distance from your eyes as the centre, so you are not refocusing as you scan across. In a sim or an open-world game it disappears and the width just works. The trade-off is straight lines: spreadsheets, CAD drawings and code editors will show a visible bow, so this is not the choice if precise geometry matters to your work. The MAG 342CQRF E20 has a gentler 1500R curve if that concerns you.
Where it sits against the 342CQRF E20
This is the older and cheaper of MSI's two 34-inch curved VA screens, and the differences are small but real. It runs 180Hz rather than 200Hz, quotes 1ms MPRT rather than 0.5ms grey-to-grey, and holds 3000:1 contrast against 3500:1. MSI lists a slightly wider gamut here at 120% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3. The stand adds height and swivel adjustment and it takes standard 100 x 100mm VESA where the newer model uses 75 x 75mm, which matters if you already own a monitor arm.

MSI kept this model in the range rather than discontinuing it, which is why a 1000R ultrawide is still available below the price of the newer 200Hz version. It is distributed locally in South Africa with a 3 year warranty.

Questions
Before you buy
What do I need to run it at its full refresh rate?
To reach 180Hz at 3440 x 1440 you need a graphics card able to output that mode, a cable that supports it, and the refresh rate selected in Windows display settings - monitors often default to 60Hz out of the box. The ports on this panel are listed under Specifications above.
What sort of panel is it?
It is VA with a 1ms MPRT response time. Panel type is the main thing that decides how a monitor looks off-centre and how it handles colour and contrast, so it is worth weighing against refresh rate rather than choosing on the headline number alone.
Can I wall-mount it or put it on an arm?
This is a 34.0 inch panel. Whether it takes a VESA mount, and at which spacing, is listed under Specifications - if a VESA size is shown there, any arm or bracket rated for that pattern and the monitor’s weight will fit. If you are not sure, send us the model of your arm and we will check.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
This one is out of stock at the moment. Stock does come back in - WhatsApp us on 079 491 0181 with the model and we will tell you what the supplier is showing and let you know when it lands, rather than leaving you to keep checking the page.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R210, or R150 on orders of R2 500 or more - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
How can I pay?
Payments are processed by Stitch. At the last step of checkout you are taken to Stitch’s secure page to pay, and brought back here once it is done. Your card details are entered on Stitch’s secure, PCI-compliant page and never touch our systems.
