Rated 180Hz, and LG will let you overclock it to 200Hz over DisplayPort if your card can keep up.
Quick Specs
- 27" IPS panel, 2560 x 1440 QHD, flat
- 180Hz native, 200Hz overclocked via DisplayPort
- 1ms GtG (Faster mode), 300 cd/m², 1000:1, 99% sRGB
- AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, HDR10 input
- 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, tilt / height / pivot stand
QHD at 27 inches is the sweet spot
At 27 inches, 1440p gives you roughly 109 pixels per inch. Text stays crisp without Windows scaling, and games get noticeably more detail than 1080p without the frame cost of 4K. It is the resolution most people land on once they have tried both. The trade-off is honest: you need more graphics card than a 1080p screen demands, and if you are running an older mid-range GPU you will be dropping settings to stay near the refresh ceiling. If your card is entry-level, the 24" Full HD UltraGear is the better buy.
The 200Hz overclock, and what the stand gives you
The panel ships at 180Hz and exposes a 200Hz overclock mode through DisplayPort 1.4. It is a genuine extra 20Hz, not marketing, but it only applies on the DisplayPort input and only if your graphics card and cable support the bandwidth. Over HDMI you stay at 180Hz. The other quiet upgrade over cheaper UltraGear models is the stand: tilt, height and pivot, so you can actually get the top of the screen to eye level instead of propping it on books, and rotate it to portrait for code or documents.
