A QMK-programmable TKL that runs on Bluetooth 5.2 — open-source firmware and no cable, which is a rare pairing.
Quick Specs
- 87-key 80% TKL layout
- Keychron Super Red linear mechanical switches
- Bluetooth 5.2 or USB-C wired
- N-key rollover with a 1000Hz polling rate
- 22 RGB backlight options, hot-swappable PCB
Wireless with real programmability
Wireless keyboards usually give up customisation — you get whatever layout the vendor decided on. The K8 V2 runs QMK with VIA support, so every key is remappable and macros and layers are yours to define, and it does that over Bluetooth 5.2 rather than only when plugged in. Switch to USB-C when you want a wired link or to charge. For a desk with a Mac and a PC, or a laptop that moves, that combination is the reason to pick this over a wired board.
The feel and the layout
Keychron's Super Red switches are linear — a smooth travel with light actuation force and no tactile bump or audible click, so they suit shared spaces and fast repeated inputs equally. N-key rollover at 1000Hz polling means every simultaneous press registers reliably. The 87-key TKL layout keeps the function row and arrow cluster while dropping the numpad, which is the balance most people settle on between desk space and completeness. Twenty-two RGB backlight modes are selectable on the board.
