Where 6000MHz DDR5 earns its keep

6000MHz is the speed the current generation of gaming platforms was tuned around. On AM5, it is the point where the memory clock and the Infinity Fabric stay in their preferred ratio, and on Intel's LGA1700 and LGA1851 boards it is a comfortable, stable operating point that does not demand exotic voltages. This module carries both an XMP and an EXPO profile, so whichever platform you are on, the rated speed is one BIOS toggle away. Out of the box it will boot at the JEDEC DDR5 base of 4800MHz, which is worth knowing, because plenty of buyers never enable the profile and quietly leave the speed they paid for unused.

Read this before you buy one stick

This is a single module. On its own it runs in single channel, and on DDR5 that still costs you meaningful bandwidth and shows up in 1% lows and frame pacing. If both DIMM slots on your board are empty, a matched 2x16GB kit is the better buy at the same total capacity and will feel faster in games. This module makes sense as the second half of a matching pair, or as a first slot in a build you intend to complete. Note also that DDR5 will not fit a DDR4 board: the notch position differs and the two are not interchangeable, so confirm your motherboard is a DDR5 model and check its QVL before ordering.
