Pre-lubed ROG NX switches, sound-dampening foam and a three-way control knob — ASUS building a keyboard the way enthusiasts do.
Quick Specs
- ROG NX Snow (linear) or ROG NX Storm (clicky) mechanical switches, pre-lubed
- Integrated sound-dampening foam
- Multifunction button with a three-way control knob
- ROG PBT doubleshot or UV-coated ABS keycaps
- Three tilt positions and a detachable wrist rest
Switches you can actually choose
Rather than one switch and a hope it suits you, the Scope II comes in two characters: NX Snow is linear — smooth, fast, quiet, the choice for rapid repeated inputs — and NX Storm is clicky, with a distinct tactile bump and audible click for people who want confirmation under the finger. Both are pre-lubed from the factory, which removes the scratchiness dry switches have and is normally something buyers do themselves.
Control and comfort worked out properly
Integrated sound-dampening foam kills the hollow echo full-size boards usually produce, so the keystroke lands flat rather than ringing. A multifunction button and three-way knob handle volume, media playback and lighting directly — faster than modifier combinations and consistent across applications — and F1–F5 come pre-programmed as Xbox Game Bar and recording hotkeys, which matters if you capture clips. Comfort comes from three tilt positions instead of the usual two and a detachable wrist rest. ROG PBT doubleshot keycaps resist the shine ABS develops over years of use.
