A clean build without hiding cables badly
BTF stands for Back To The Future, ASUS's hidden-connector standard: the 24-pin, EPS, SATA, fan and front-panel headers all move to the rear of the PCB, so nothing crosses the visible side of the board. In a tempered-glass build the result is dramatic and, more practically, it removes most of the cable-management work that eats an afternoon. Underneath the styling this is a full Crosshair X870E Hero — the same power delivery, PCIe 5.0 graphics and storage, USB4, Wi-Fi 7 and ROG BIOS — so you are not paying for looks at the expense of capability.
The catch you must plan for
BTF boards need a BTF-compatible case with matching cut-outs in the motherboard tray. Fitting one into a conventional chassis is at best awkward and often impossible, and BTF case availability in South Africa is still narrower than standard ATX. That constraint is the whole decision: if you already own a case you love, buy the standard Crosshair X870E Hero instead. It is also an expensive board whose gaming performance is essentially identical to a mid-range B850, so the premium buys aesthetics, connectivity and headroom rather than frames.
