Dual 2.5GbE and a clean layout for the AM5 workstation on a budget
Quick Specs
- AMD B650 chipset on socket AM5 for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 Series
- Four DDR5 DIMM slots with EXPO and DOCP memory profiles

- Dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports for redundancy or link aggregation
- Multiple M.2 NVMe sockets with heatsinks, plus USB Type-C front header
Creator features without the X670E price
The ProArt B650-Creator lands in a sweet spot that South African buyers ask for constantly: a serious AM5 board for editing, CAD and photography work that does not cost as much as the CPU. You get the ProArt priorities — dual 2.5GbE for NAS work, plentiful fast storage, sober aesthetics, strong VRM cooling for a Ryzen 9 — on the cheaper B650 chipset. Paired with a Ryzen 7 9700X or Ryzen 9 9950X it makes a genuinely productive workstation, and AM5's long socket life means a CPU upgrade in three years will not require a new board.
Where B650 draws the line
B650 is not X670E. Total PCIe lane count and chipset USB provisioning are lower, so if you plan on running several high-bandwidth add-in cards plus a full array of NVMe drives simultaneously, you will hit sharing limits. There is no onboard Wi-Fi on this model — budget for a card or a cable. Graphics runs at PCIe 4.0 rather than 5.0, which costs essentially nothing in real games today but is worth knowing. If you want Thunderbolt-class USB4, 10GbE or PCIe 5.0 graphics, the ProArt X870E-Creator is the board to look at instead.
