RDNA 4 with 16GB and a 3030 MHz boost — AMD's 4K answer
Quick Specs
- AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT with 4096 stream processors.
- 16GB GDDR6 memory at 20 Gbps on a 256-bit interface.
- OC mode up to 3030 MHz boost / 2480 MHz game clock.
- 312mm, 2.5-slot triple-fan cooler.
- 750W recommended PSU, three 8-pin connectors.
Where AMD is competitive again
RDNA 4 brought a substantial ray tracing improvement over the previous generation, and the RX 9070 XT is where that lands in a card meant for 4K. 4096 stream processors on a 256-bit bus with a full 16GB of GDDR6 gives it both the throughput and the frame buffer for 4K textures — and the 16GB is a genuine advantage over similarly priced 12GB competitors.
Compact, but check your power supply
At 2.5 slots and 312mm the Prime is on the restrained side for this class. The power requirement is less so: three 8-pin connectors and a 750W supply. Worth confirming your PSU has all three before ordering. FSR 4 handles upscaling and frame generation on the software side.
FEATURES:
- 4096 RDNA 4 stream processors with substantially improved ray tracing.
- 16GB GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus — more frame buffer than similarly priced rivals.
- Up to 3030 MHz boost clock in OC mode.
- 2.5-slot, 312mm design is compact for a 4K card.
- AMD FSR 4 upscaling and frame generation support.

Questions
Before you buy
What size power supply do I need for this card?
ASUS specifies a 750W power supply as the minimum for a complete system built around it. That figure covers the whole PC, not the card on its own, so if your current supply is at or above it you are fine. If you are close to the line, or the supply is an older unbranded unit, it is worth upgrading at the same time - an underpowered PSU shows up as crashes under load rather than a machine that simply will not start.
Will this card fit inside my case?
It is 312mm long. Check the maximum graphics card clearance for your case and make sure it is more than that - allow a little extra for the power cables that plug into the top or end of the card. Every case we sell lists its maximum card length on the Specifications tab, so you can compare the two numbers directly.
Which GPU is in this card, and how much video memory does it have?
This is a Radeon RX 9070 XT with 16GB of video memory. Video memory is the buffer the card uses for textures and frame data, so it matters most at higher resolutions and with high-detail texture settings. The full clock speeds, memory interface and display outputs are listed under Specifications above.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
Yes - this one is in stock. Order before 12:00 on a working day and it ships the same day; after that it goes out the next working day. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, so an order placed over a weekend or a public holiday ships on the next working day.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R210, or R150 on orders of R2 500 or more - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
How can I pay?
Payments are processed by Stitch. At the last step of checkout you are taken to Stitch’s secure page to pay, and brought back here once it is done. Your card details are entered on Stitch’s secure, PCI-compliant page and never touch our systems.
