A Threadripper workstation foundation built for lane count, memory bandwidth and uptime
Quick Specs
- AMD TRX50 chipset on the sTR5 socket for Ryzen Threadripper 7000 Series processors
- E-ATX form factor with a full-size, expansion-heavy layout
- Quad-channel DDR5 RDIMM registered ECC memory across four slots
- Multiple PCIe 5.0 slots plus several M.2 NVMe slots for high-speed storage
- 10 Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit wired networking on board
For workloads that actually need the lanes
Threadripper is not a gaming platform first and this board does not pretend otherwise. It is aimed at rendering farms, video post-production suites, simulation work, AI experimentation and any studio that needs several full-bandwidth GPUs and a stack of NVMe drives in the same chassis. Quad-channel DDR5 with registered ECC support means large datasets stay in memory and stay correct — a real consideration for South African studios running long overnight renders where a single silent bit flip costs a full re-run. The 10G LAN port matters too if you are pulling footage off a NAS all day.
Who should not buy this
If you are building a gaming PC, buy an AM5 or LGA1851 board instead — Threadripper's per-core clocks and platform cost make no sense for games, and you will spend more on the CPU and RDIMM memory than on a complete Ryzen 9 system. The E-ATX board needs a genuinely large chassis with matching standoffs, high-wattage power delivery and serious airflow; it will not fit a normal mid-tower. Registered ECC DDR5 is required, so ordinary desktop UDIMM kits will not work and are more expensive to source locally. This is professional equipment with professional running costs.
FEATURES:
- Robust multi-phase VRM with heavy heatsinks sized for high-core-count Threadripper parts

- Several onboard M.2 NVMe slots for scratch disks and fast project storage
- Dual wired networking including a 10 Gigabit port for studio and NAS environments
- Workstation-oriented BIOS with detailed monitoring, fan control and IPMI-class management features
