650W is the capacity most mid-range single-GPU builds actually need, and this is the cheapest way to get it in the ATOM range.
Quick Specs
- 650W output
- Non-modular, fixed cable set
- Standard ATX form factor
- Model: Antec ATOM V650
- 2-year warranty
The mainstream gaming bracket
This is the capacity that matches the cards most South Africans actually buy. A Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 with an RTX 5060 Ti or an RX 9060 XT sits well inside 650W, with enough margin that the supply is not working at its limit during a long session. That margin is the point. A unit loafing at half load runs cooler, spins its fan slower and tends to outlive one that is redlined every evening. Above a 5070 Ti, look at the CSK Pro 850 instead.
What you give up against the G and CSK lines
The V650 is the plain option. Cables are fixed, so the whole harness goes into the case and stays there, and the warranty is two years rather than the five you get on the ATOM G and CSK Pro units. If you plan to keep this machine for five years or you want a tidy build behind a glass panel, the extra few hundred rand for the ATOM G750 buys both a longer warranty and detachable cables. If the machine is a work box that games on weekends, the V650 is enough.
