Full description and specifications

A 16-inch 1920 x 1200 screen at 165Hz gives you a taller view than a standard Full HD laptop, driven by RTX 3050 graphics

Quick Specs

  • Processor: Intel Core 5 205H
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050
  • Memory / Storage: 8GB / 512GB
  • Display: 16" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), 165Hz
  • Battery: 53.35Wh

Who it is for

The Nitro V 16 is the entry point into Acer's Nitro range for players who want a dedicated NVIDIA GPU and a high-refresh screen at a lower outlay. The 16-inch, 1920 x 1200 panel is taller than a standard 16:9 Full HD screen, which helps with study, browsing and document work as much as gaming. With the Intel Core 5 205H, GeForce RTX 3050 and Windows 11 Home, it suits first-time gaming-laptop buyers and students playing esports and older titles. Those wanting to run new releases at high settings should step up to an RTX 50-series model.

Trade-offs worth knowing

The RTX 3050 is a previous-generation entry GPU, so expect to lower settings in demanding new games. 8GB of memory is enough for gaming on its own but tight for heavier multitasking. Acer quotes a claimed 2.5 hours of battery life from the 53.35Wh battery, so this is a laptop to use near a plug. Connectivity is good: HDMI 2.1 and Mini DisplayPort 1.4 for external screens, a USB Type-C port with USB 3.2 Gen 2, DisplayPort 1.4 and charging, two Type-A ports, Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6. At 2.35 kg it is the heavier of the Nitro V models.

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 dedicated graphics

  • 16" WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display at 165Hz

Questions

Before you buy

Can I upgrade the memory or storage later?
It varies by model - some laptops have sockets you can reach behind a service panel, others solder the memory to the board. Whatever this one supports is listed under Specifications, and opening the machine yourself can affect the warranty. Ask us before you buy an upgrade and we will confirm what will fit.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
This one is out of stock at the moment. Stock does come back in - WhatsApp us on 079 491 0181 with the model and we will tell you what the supplier is showing and let you know when it lands, rather than leaving you to keep checking the page.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R210, or R150 on orders of R2 500 or more - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
How can I pay?
Payments are processed by Stitch. At the last step of checkout you are taken to Stitch’s secure page to pay, and brought back here once it is done. Your card details are entered on Stitch’s secure, PCI-compliant page and never touch our systems.
