What 6K gives a colour-critical workflow
6144 x 3456 across 31.47 inches is about 224 pixels per inch, which is retina-class density on a desktop monitor. Photographs show grain rather than pixel structure, and 4K video can be viewed at full resolution with the editing interface around it instead of on top of it. Coverage of 99.5% Adobe RGB matters for print work in a way DCI-P3 numbers alone do not, and 10-bit colour with 2000:1 IPS Black contrast means gradients stay smooth where a conventional IPS panel bands. This is a tool for photographers, retouchers and colourists.
One cable, and who should not buy this
Thunderbolt 5 carries 6K at 60Hz in one direction and passes signal out for daisy-chaining a second display, while USB-C delivers 96W back to the laptop, which is enough to run and charge most professional notebooks with the charger left in the bag. Two 5W speakers handle calls. The honest caution is price against purpose: at 60Hz this is not a gaming monitor, and if your work is documents, email and spreadsheets you will not see 40,000 rand of benefit over a good 4K panel. Buy it because colour accuracy pays your bills.

Why LG?
LG Display develops the IPS Black technology this panel is built on, so the contrast and colour figures come from the panel maker rather than from an integrator's marketing department. Local support and a 3 Year warranty come with it.

Questions
Before you buy
What do I need to run it at its full refresh rate?
To reach 60Hz at 6144 x 3456 you need a graphics card able to output that mode, a cable that supports it, and the refresh rate selected in Windows display settings - monitors often default to 60Hz out of the box. The ports on this panel are listed under Specifications above.
What sort of panel is it?
It is IPS with a 5ms GtG response time. Panel type is the main thing that decides how a monitor looks off-centre and how it handles colour and contrast, so it is worth weighing against refresh rate rather than choosing on the headline number alone.
Can I wall-mount it or put it on an arm?
This is a 31.47 inch panel. Whether it takes a VESA mount, and at which spacing, is listed under Specifications - if a VESA size is shown there, any arm or bracket rated for that pattern and the monitor’s weight will fit. If you are not sure, send us the model of your arm and we will check.
Is it in stock, and when will it ship?
This one is out of stock at the moment. Stock does come back in - WhatsApp us on 079 491 0181 with the model and we will tell you what the supplier is showing and let you know when it lands, rather than leaving you to keep checking the page.
What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?
We deliver by courier anywhere in South Africa, and delivery is R180 on orders under R2 500 and free on orders of R2 500 or more. It takes 1-3 working days to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and areas within 100km of them, and 2-4 working days to areas more than 100km from a major centre, counted from the day the order is dispatched. Need it sooner? Express delivery is 1-2 working days for R210, or R150 on orders of R2 500 or more - choose it at checkout. We do not ship outside South Africa.
Can I collect instead of having it delivered?
Yes. Collection is from 11 Voortrekker Avenue, Edenvale, Gauteng, by arrangement - message us first so we can have the order picked and waiting. We are open 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
What warranty does it carry, and how do I claim?
The warranty period for this product is listed at the end of the Specifications section above. Claims go through us, not the manufacturer - contact us with your order number and a description of the fault and we will handle it from there. Separately from any warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind - longer than the seven days the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging, and we pay the return shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, within 30 days of the return reaching us.
How can I pay?
Payments are processed by Stitch. At the last step of checkout you are taken to Stitch’s secure page to pay, and brought back here once it is done. Your card details are entered on Stitch’s secure, PCI-compliant page and never touch our systems.
