A claw-grip shape with a real Pixart SG8925 sensor and a rubber-textured left flank — built for players who lift the mouse a lot.
Quick Specs
- Pixart SG8925 optical sensor, up to 10000 DPI
- Five DPI steps: 800 / 1200 / 1600 / 2400 / 10000
- 6 programmable buttons including two thumb macro keys
- 30G acceleration, USB 2.0 full-speed interface
- 1.8m braided-fibre cable, 8 backlight modes
Shaped for claw grip, textured where it counts
The Trident is built around a claw-grip posture — fingers arched, palm barely touching — which is the grip most players fall into when they need quick repositioning rather than broad sweeps. The rubber texture along the left flank is the detail that makes it work: it gives your thumb something to pull against when you lift and reset, so the mouse does not slide during a fast re-aim. The frosted top coat resists fingerprints and stays grippy when your hands warm up, which matters more in a South African summer than most spec sheets admit.
A named sensor at an entry price
Redragon fits the Pixart SG8925 here rather than an unbranded optical, and 30G acceleration means the sensor keeps tracking through the sharp movements that make cheaper mice lose the plot. The five DPI steps run from a steady 800 for rifle work up to 10000 for anyone running a very high-resolution display. Six programmable buttons with two thumb macros cover the essentials without the button wall of an MMO mouse. The 1.8m braided cable is fixed rather than detachable — fine at this price, but worth knowing if you like swapping cables.
