Pre-lubricated switches, a gasket mount and three layers of foam — an enthusiast build without the parts list or the wait.
Quick Specs
- Gasket-mounted 65% board, 68-key layout with dedicated arrows
- Custom linear "Dragon Chant" switches, pre-lubricated and hot-swappable
- Compatible with 99.8% of mechanical switches on the market
- Triple-layer dampening: PORON, IXPE and socket foam
- USB Type-C wired, with macro and RGB software support
Why it sounds different
Three things separate this from a standard budget mechanical. The plate sits on silicone gaskets under even pressure rather than being screwed to the case, so keystrokes have give instead of a hard stop. Three foam layers — PORON, IXPE switch foam and socket foam — fill the cavity that otherwise turns every keypress into a hollow echo. And the switches arrive pre-lubricated, which removes the scratchiness that makes cheap linears feel gritty. Together that is most of what people spend weekends doing to a custom board, done at the factory.
Compact, but you keep the arrows
The 65% layout runs 68 keys with a dedicated arrow cluster, which is the version of "compact" that does not force an Fn press to move a cursor. Height is adjustable for long sessions. The sockets take 99.8% of mechanical switches on the market, so replacements are not restricted to Redragon's own. The connection is wired USB Type-C — a deliberate choice for consistent response — and Redragon's software handles macros, remapping and RGB.
