Hall-effect magnetic switches with no physical contact point — actuation happens the instant the magnet moves, not when metal touches metal.
Quick Specs
- Linear magnetic (Hall effect) switches for contactless actuation
- Compact 61-key 60% layout
- Per-key RGB backlighting
- Hot-swap capable for switch changes
- Plug-and-play on Windows and macOS
Why magnetic switches are different
A mechanical switch registers when two pieces of metal meet, which means a fixed actuation point and a debounce delay. A magnetic switch uses a Hall effect sensor to read how far the magnet in the stem has moved, so there is no contact to bounce and no fixed trigger depth. In practice that means faster, more consistent registration and — on boards that expose it — an actuation point you can set yourself. Against a standard mechanical board this is the meaningful upgrade in the sub-R600 bracket.
Compact by design
The 60% layout is here for the same reason it is on the rest of the Fizz line: at low mouse sensitivity, 61 keys leave room for a full arm sweep that a full-size board does not. Per-key RGB handles the visual side, the sockets are hot-swappable for changing switch feel, and it works plug-and-play on both Windows and macOS with no driver install to get typing. One thing to be clear about: magnetic switches are not cross-compatible with ordinary mechanical switches — replacements need to be magnetic.
